Introductions

Ø Reports

Tech report: Website is updated.

-View blog and Facebook page

Ø Old Business

Ø New Business

-Defining roles of website, blog, Facebook

Julene fixed the blog settings so anyone can comment on it. Facebook will be looked into by Charlotte.

-Charlotte- Fairbanks & Juneau events.

SARE is about sustainable agriculture and organic growing. Charlotte is looking at going again this year in Fairbanks, March 16-19. It’s a western US regional conference. They’re looking to get out to smaller gardens. It’s invite only and Charlotte received an invite.

Polar Growers Greenhouse conference in Juneau next week.

Charlotte will look into seeing if Stephanie knows of anyone going to SARE.

-Julene- Bicycle Library

Doug and Julene are looking into making a bicycle library. Charlotte is concerned about them being stolen, as has been her experience with employee bikes. They’re looking at making it a monetary deposit kind of rental. Charlotte doesn’t think there’ll be enough bikes.

Ø Members comments

A bike lane should be included on the west side of Alaska. The idea was presented to get a paved path up on the dike. It should be presented to the Assembly. Charlotte will think about a letter to the assembly. Jeff is very interested in being involved.

Jeff will add eskagway.com link to our website. Brooke will tell Matt at the incinerator about eskagway.com. He has a garage full of stuff.

Julene- School enrollment is declining. Skagway needs to figure out a way to keep people around.
